For the first time since the expansion to 32 teams, every team owned its pick heading into draft night. Despite that, it was still a wild three days of NFL draft action in Green Bay, as some of the biggest prospects were snatched up and others fell through the cracks.
The first round featured plenty of drama and some big surprises, but there are still more names to watch as we head into the second day. Among those to watch is Shedeur Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders who has polarized the evaluation process with his accuracy and poise in the pocket. He’s been a popular pick to go inside the top 10 and is likely to land on a team that needs him badly.
Other notables include Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, who is a well-rounded prospect with the speed to evade blocks and the strength to overpower offensive linemen. Also keeping an eye on is Florida safety Jalen Milroe, who has the length and range to play in any secondary and can fill in at free safety if needed.
In the second round, the New England Patriots have a chance to add another promising edge rusher in Tennessee’s Devin Carter. He’s an explosive pass rusher with a strong motor and good open-field speed, and he should make an immediate impact in Mike Vrabel’s front four.
