US Open Schedule

The US Open, the final Grand Slam of the year and one of the most iconic tennis tournaments in history, takes place every August in Flushing Meadows, New York. Unlike other majors, which use a single-elimination system, the US Open features several different formats. The most popular is the singles competition, which sees players compete against other seeded competitors until a champion is named. The men’s and women’s finals are played on Sunday.

Novak Djokovic begins his quest for a record 25th Grand Slam title when he plays on Arthur Ashe Stadium, the centre court at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City, USA, on Saturday 24 August. The night session also sees USA number two Ben Shelton play against Peruvian qualifier Ignacio Buse and defending women’s singles champion Aryna Sabalenka take on Switzerland’s Rebeka Masarova.

With a winner’s check of $5 million this year, the stakes are higher than ever at Flushing Meadows, which has seen a significant increase in prize money for both the singles and doubles events. The 2025 event also features an all-new format, with each round running over two weeks rather than the traditional three.

This will give fans more matches to attend, while giving players an extra day of rest between rounds. The US Open schedule is always subject to change, however, so keep an eye on our match tracker and the official website for updates. Pro tip: The US Open is a free event for all, with qualifying matches and Fan Week taking place from Aug. 18 through the end of the main draw on Aug. 23. For those without tickets for the shows inside the main stadiums, plop down on the plaza just south of Arthur Ashe to watch matches on the large screens set up there.
